The original story:         Gypsy the Pit Bull

Update on Gypsy

Good news! Gypsy continues to improve. The doctor said that she is doing well, and now they are letting her rest and heal. The surgery went off without a hitch, and she is getting lots of attention. Her new "lips" were pulled from flaps of skin on her face and plastic "buttons" hold them in place along with stitches. Thanks to this surgery, Gypsy has a new profile and her lips are not showing any more.

For those of you who had the stomach to view the very graphic photos of her when she was first brought into the shelter, you would not believe that she is the same dog! She looks absolutely amazing!

And in adoption news, Joann and Doug of Tri-County Rescue have decided that Gypsy is to be a permanent family member, so her official name is now: "Gypsy Hager, the Miracle Dog".
